The Garden of Hope was first opened by the Foundation in 1997 to provide a sanctuary of natural beauty and serenity for cancer patients and their families during their visits to the Cancer Centre. After almost twenty years of use, the Garden of Hope was in desperate need of renovation. Since the Garden of Hope is utilized by thousands of cancer patients and their families each year – In 2014, The Hope Ball was held to raise the funds need for the Garden revitalization project.

The new Garden of Hope features a Tribute Wall where donors can purchase a leaf, butterfly or bird in honour or in memory of loved ones. What a meaningful way to honour a loved one.

A mother from Labrador, whose daughter was a patient here said it best:

“My daughter, at the age of 26, was diagnosed with cancer. While waiting for her chemo appointment, we would go into the Garden of Hope and just enjoy its beauty because we knew that for the next four days after her treatment, life wasn’t as beautiful. So thank you for doing whatever you can to help add a little more beauty and hope to the lives of those touched by cancer.”
